Cohort I
Begins in 2027

For teachers who hold space for others

The Academy is for people who already guide others inward and want to do so with the Shripur Method.

Yoga and meditation teachers

Breathwork, somatic and contemplative practitioners

Retreat leaders and the teams of partner houses

You bring an established personal practice and experience leading groups

Six months, from the texts to your first journeys

  1. Month 1

    The map and its texts

The nine enclosures of the Śrī Cakra and the texts behind them: the Yoginīhṛdaya, the Vijñāna Bhairava and yoga nidrā. Every month comes with its training manual.

  2. Month 2

    Drawing the map

Drawing the map by hand: from the cord geometry of the Vedic fire altar to the traditional forty-eight-part Śrī Cakra, why it only nearly closes, and the exact solution. Then colour, form and contemplation.

  3. Month 3

    Holding deep states

Yoga nidrā, presence and voice. Recognising depth, distress and the return.

  4. Month 4

    Light, the Instrument and safety

How the Instrument works with a guide. Screening, suitability, and what to do when something goes wrong.

  5. Month 5

    Designing journeys

Building a session from arrival to integration, for groups and for individuals.

  6. Month 6

    Mentored practice and certification

Supervised sessions, case reflection with a senior guide, and your certification assessment.

How the training works

Live teaching

Weekly sessions with the cohort, recorded for when you cannot attend.

A practice library

Guided practices, readings from the texts, and yantras to study at your own pace.

Mentorship circles

Small groups with a senior guide, to reflect on your practice and your sessions.

Your own Discovery

You walk a Discovery journey yourself before certification, so you know the path from the inside.

Instrument practicum

Hands-on time with the Instrument, in person, before you guide others with it.

After certification

Guide with Shripur, join the map of certified guides, and keep learning with the community.

Painting: an arch of soft pearl-gold light opening in a deep violet field, a path of faint light leading into it

Led by Neha

Neha and R.K. Luthra, the founders, teach the Academy. Neha shapes how every Shripur session is held, and leads the training of every Shripur guide. Guest teachers from the lineage and the sciences join each cohort.

Questions

Is the whole training online?

The teaching, practice and mentorship are online. Your own Discovery journey and the Instrument practicum are in person.

What does certification let me do?

Guide Shripur journeys in your own work, join the map of certified guides, and work with the Instrument as it becomes available to guides.

Is this a clinical qualification?

No. Shripur is a contemplative practice. Guides are trained to recognise when someone needs medical or psychological care, and to refer them.

When does Cohort I begin?

Cohort I begins in 2027. Join the early list to hear first, when applications open.

Before you apply

The Academy is also a practice, so the same care applies to you. Shripur is not suitable if you are under 18 or pregnant. It is not suitable if you have epilepsy, seizures or sensitivity to flickering light, or if a parent, sibling or child does. It is not suitable with bipolar disorder or a history of psychosis, in you or in a parent, sibling or child. It is also not suitable with a dissociative condition, a recent trauma, a recent head injury, a pacemaker or other implanted device, or medication that acts on the brain (other than antidepressants), after recent alcohol or recreational drugs, or after less than four hours of sleep in the last day. If you are unsure about any of these, tell your guide: unsure counts as yes. Safety and suitability, in full.
